Reviews of Use Once and Destroy

"RC Edrington provides a different type of gritty, urban realism, one more in the tradition of Chas Bukowski and Bill Burroughs where life has a toxicological centre. But, pastiche it is not. Though perhaps being heard from the same direction, Edrington's is a distinct voice that could be best described as post-modern beat."
--Stride Magazine [www.stridemagazine.co.uk]

"(RC Edrington) stretches out a hand, stops us in our tracks and takes us to places where we do not feel comfortable. In other words, there is real poetry in this collection. He is well beyond the accusation that he is only writing chopped up prose."
--Reach Magazine January 2005

For the record, I prefer Bush over a tax and spend Democrat anyday. No contest. I had hoped the Democrats could put forth a decent candidate that offered a new direction and fresh ideas for the country, but as per their MO of the last 20 years, the Democrats are content to just be anti-status quo. Kerry should spend less time tossing off sound bites of why he doesn't like Bush and more time explaining why he would be any different. The bottom line: the US has a one party system. It's the rich vs. the poor. We all lose. But atleast with Bush, we know what we are going to get: cheap CIA imported heroin from Afghanistan.

I am currently at work on a novel, so I haven't really spent much time sending out new poetry for publication. There is a broadside available of my poem "Mirage" published by Feel Free Press in the UK. It's limited to 100 copies. To check it out or purchase a copy click here. If you would like a signed copy of one of the first 10 printings, email me for info.

Last week I finished reading and giving my go ahead for the proofs of my latest poetry collection Use Once and Destroy to be published this fall by Blue Chrome Publishing in the UK. I am very pleased with how it came out and can't wait to see the final printing. I will update soon on how to get a copy.

I will make more of an effort to keep this news section up to date, so check back soon.
